Diagnostic features
The fabric is characterized by a semi-homogeneous oxidised matrix with no optical activity and moderate porosity. Dominant quartz inclusions with frequent sedimentary and metamorphic rock detritus, chert/flint, common feldspars, opaques/iron oxides and iron-rich clay pellets, few muscovite mica and clay pellets/semi-plastics. Overall moderately to poorly sorted fabric.
